Waterfalls in Alabama? Not the first thing most people think of when they think of this southern state. Many think if the two Southeastern Conference Football teams in Auburn and Tuscaloosa (University of Alabama)...or maybe the famous NASCAR raceway in Talladega...or perhaps the classic country music group, Alabama, who hails from the little town of Fort Payne.
But, with a national forest that has been dubbed "The Land of 1000 Waterfalls"...Frankie and I have come to think of the Yellowhammer state in terms of finding those falls.
At this point, we definitely have only but gotten started with chasing waterfalls in Alabama, so here is a map and our list of the ones we've discovered in person so far...
